After the American and European 12" single of Liza Minelli's 'Love pains', I should probably confess that I have the UK 12" single as well. It's the least interesting of the three, since all tracks can be found on the other two, but the truth is, the sleeve is so different from the other two even my photographic memory didn't help much when I thought of whether I had this one or not.
Or at least, that's how I remember it. But in fact, this was the first one I bought, so the other two discs were improvements on this one.
My collection: 12" single no. 186
Found: Record Exchange, London, 1993
Cost: 1 pound
Tracks: 'Love pains (Steve 'Silk' Hurley's remix)' / 'Love pains (Deep dub)', 'Rent'

Don't drop bombs - Liza Minelli
'Don't drop bombs' was released as the second single from Liza Minelli's 1989 album 'Results'. Like the album, the single was produced by the Pet Shop Boys and Julian Mendelssohn. The track was written by the Pet Shop Boys and featured background vocals by Tessa Niles. The single was a club favourite, but stalled at number 46 in the UK singles chart.
This limited edition of the single features a poster sleeve. Disappointingly, the same photograph was used for the poster, but it's still a collector's item. And you know how much I love those.
My collection: 7" single no. 5257
Found: Record fair, Utrecht, November 19, 2011
Cost: 1 euro
Tracks: 'Don't drop bombs' / 'Don't drop bombs (instrumental)'

So sorry, I said - Liza Minelli
'So sorry, I said' was the third single release from Liza Minelli's 1989 'Results' album, which was produced by the Pet Shop Boys. The single was released in a limited edition gatefold sleeve featuring a photograph of Liza with the Pet Shop Boys.
The two tracks on the single were both from the album, which may account for its low chart placing: it only reached number 62 in the UK singles chart.
My collection: 7" single no. 2269
Found: April 8, 1995
Cost: 5 guilders
Tracks: 'So sorry, I said' / 'I can't say goodnight'

'Losing my mind' was written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1971 musical 'Follies'. The song was originally performed by Dorothy Collins and was since covered by many artists including Shirley Bassy and Michael Ball.
The most successful version of the song was recorded by Liza Minelli, on her 1989 album 'Results', which was produced by the Pet Shop Boys and Julian Mendelsohn. The single reached number 6 in the UK singles chart and number 31 in the Dutch Top 40.

Love pains - Liza Minelli
The American 12" single of Liza Minelli's cover version of the song 'Love pains' is not the only 12" single of it that I own. The life of a collector can be complicated sometimes: when a 12" single contains different tracks in different territories for instance.
This German 12" single contains the two single tracks, 'Love pains' and the B-side 'Rent'. But then, suddenly, an unknown remix of 'Losing my mind' appears in the track listing as well. According to Wikipedia, the 'Dubulta mix' is actually a dub mix from the DJ remix service Ultimix.

Love pains - Liza Minelli
Liza Minelli recorded an album with the Pet Shop Boys entitled 'Results' in 1989. From this album, four singles were drawn. This was the third one: 'Love pains', a cover version of a song performed previously by Yvonne Elliman in 1982. Steve 'Silk' Hurley was commissioned to create several mixes for 'Love pains', all of which were released on this American 12" single.
As a fan of the Pet Shop Boys, it's easy to like Liza Minelli's 'Results' album. And once I bought that album, I had to have the singles and remixes as well. I found my copy during a holiday in London.
My collection: 12" single no. 283

Cost: 6 pounds
Tracks: 'Love pains (Hurley's Remix)', 'Love pains (Hurley's Radio Edit)', 'Love pains (Hurley's Instrumental)' / 'Love pains (Deep House Pains)', 'Love pains (Deep Dub)'
