You could be mine - Guns n' Roses

Contrary to popular belief, 'You could be mine' was not originally going to be the official theme song of 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'. However, the references to Guns N' Roses that were made in the film were so clear and obvious that it was the best business decision to make when director James Cameron decided to recruit the band to perform a song. Arnold Schwarzenegger had the band members over for dinner at his own home to negotiate the deal.

The song appeared during the closing credits of 'Terminator 2' and was heard in the film itself in early scenes with John Connor. The original script called for The Ramones song 'I wanna be sedated' to be played instead. he single reached number 5 in the Dutch Top 40 and number 3 in the UK singles chart. I bought this single at a time when loud music appealed to me a lot. Now the track just bores the hell out of me.

November rain - Guns n' Roses

'November rain' is a very long single, clocking in at 8 minutes and 57 seconds. Axl Rose had been working on the song since at least 1983. An early live version by the band, released in Australia in 1985 is an acoustic version with guitar, lead vocals and backing vocals, but without guitar solos or the outro. An 18 minute version was recorded in 1986 with guitarist Manny Charlton from the band Nazareth. The version on this single comes from Guns n' Roses' 1992 album 'Use your illusion'.

The single peaked at number 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 4 in the UK singles chart. In the Netherlands, the single charted twice: in April 1992, it reached number 13 during a six week chart run, and in September, 'November rain' reached number 4 during a 12 week chart run.

Since I don't have you - Guns n' Roses

In November 1993, Guns n' Roses released a collection of punk and glam rock covers entitled 'The Spaghetti Incident?'. The album did not match the success of previous albums, which increased tensions within the band.

The first single from the album was 'Since I don't have you', a cover of a song by the doo-wop group the Skyliners, released in 1958. It peaked at number 10 in the UK singles chart. The 7" single was released as a strictly limited edition on orange vinyl.
