When the internet was still a new phenomenon in my life (i.e. some 14 years ago) I knew a young man in Canada, with whom I regularly swapped cassettes (yes, we still had those back then) with music. I sent him some Dutch stuff, and he came up with things like Amy Grant and E.G. Daily. These tapes really interested me, and most of the stuff he sent me ended up in my record collection.
E.G. Daily's 1989 album 'Lace around the wound' is actually a great album. Although it didn't have any commercial success in Europe, the record company still released a single from the album: 'Some people' was an unexpected find for me.
My collection: 7" single no. 4581
Found: Velvet Vinyl Outlet, Leiden, February 26, 2010
Cost: 1 euro
Tracks: 'Some people (remix)' / 'Are you there'

Love in the shadows - E.G. Daily
After E.G. Daily reached the chart in several countries with 'Say it say it', a second single was taken from her 1985 album 'Wild child': 'Love in the shadows'. The single proved less successful, as it did not chart in any territory.
However, the song was used in the movie 'Thief of hearts', released roughly around the same time.
My collection: 7" single no. 3844
Found: Zeeheldenfestival, Den Haag, July 4, 2009
Cost: 0,5 euro
Tracks: 'Love in the shadows' / 'Little toy'

Say it say it - E.G. Daily
So I've had the 12" single of 'Say it say it' for more than 20 years. I didn't buy the single because I didn't have enough money at the time. I didn't have that excuse anymore when I saw the single today - a steal at only 50 eurocents. Besides, the single had a B-side that didn't appear on the 12" single!
The single was a reasonable success for the American singer. It reached number 11 in the Dutch Top 40 and number 70 in the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Say it say it - E.G. Daily
When this video appeared on television, lots of heads turned. E.G. Daily, born as Elisabeth Ann Guttman on September 11, 1961, performed music a lot like Madonna's, her voice was childlike and in the video she re-enacted the movie 'Lolita'. It was a lot to take in.
When faced with the choice to buy the 7" single or the 12" single, I chose the latter, because it featured three versions of 'Say it say it'. Besides, it was at discount price!
My collection: 7" single no. 30
Found: V&D, Den Haag, 1987
Cost: 8 guilders
Tracks: 'Say it say it (extended version)' / 'Say it say it (single version)', 'Say it say it (dub version)'
