'Oh yeah' was written by Bryan Ferry. He explained in an interview: 'In this song I was trying to create a picture of Americana, and long hot summer evenings at drive-in movies. It is wistful and nostalgic, rather like a country record.'
The track was released as the second single from Roxy Music's 1980 album 'Flesh + Blood'. It reached number 5 in the UK singles chart, just like the previous single 'Over you'.

Avalon - Roxy Music
'Avalon' was the second single from Roxy Music's 1982 album of the same name. Produced by Rhett Davies and the band, it became one of the band's signature songs. The single reached number 3 in the Dutch Top 40 and number 13 in the UK singles chart.
The album 'Avalon' was listed as number 307 in the Rolling Stone magazine's list of 500 greatest albums of all time in 2003. I always wonder how they make these lists...

Over you - Roxy Music
I discovered this single while I was wallowing in selfpity after once again I was not successful in conquering a young girl's heart. It was the dreary spring of 1989, and 'Over you' instantly became one of my favourite songs. I guess I was overdramatizing a tad.
'Over you' was the first single released from Roxy Music's 1980 album 'Flesh + Blood'. It reached number 5 in the UK singles chart and number 17 in the Dutch Top 40.

Angel eyes - Roxy Music
'Angel eyes' was the third single taken from Roxy Music's album 'Manifesto' (1979). It was a re-recorded version of the album track. An extended dance mix was also released on the accompanying 12" single, a relatively new format at the time. The song was in the charts at the same time as another song called 'Angeleyes', by the Swedish group Abba.
Roxy Music's 'Angel eyes' peaked at number 4 in the UK singles chart and number 10 in the Dutch Top 40.

Dance away - Roxy Music
'Dance away' was released as the second single from Roxy Music's 1979 album 'Manifesto'. The single reached number 2 on the UK singles chart and number 6 in the Dutch Top 40. In the US Billboard Hot 100 the single reached number 44.
The record shop where I bought this single is one of my most vivid memories of a shop ever. The place stank of urine (probably from the dog who was walking around there), there were boxes with singles everywhere and the state of most of them was deplorable. I rescued a few titles I really wanted to have and got out of there. Pity I don't remember the name of the place...

Jealous guy - Roxy Music
Following the tragic death of John Lennon in December 1980, Roxy Music recorded a cover version of his song 'Jealous guy'. This was met with some criticism as it was suggested that they were cashing in on his death. Still, the song became a number one chart hit for Roxy Music.
John Lennon wrote the song in ten years earlier, after his relationship with Yoko Ono had become strained because of his drinking problems and jealousy problems with his first wife, Cynthia Powell. Yoko commented, '(The song) said it all! ... After we got together he made me write out a list of all the men I'd slept with before we met. I started to do it quite casually – then I realised how serious it was to John. He didn't even like me speaking Japanese because that was a part of my mind that shut him out.'
